Not to nitpick, only having a villain or a hero team does not mean the card pool is split in half. All of the cards can still be used in a villain or hero deck. I can't think of any cards that are hero or villain only. And because you can mix team colors (reds, yellows and blues) you can basically play with every card available.

Um, but from the rules reference:

"• If a team has hero characters, its deck cannot contain villain
cards. If a team has villain characters, its deck cannot contain
hero cards. Neutral cards can be included in any deck. "
