Took a screener/coding puzzle for a local nonprofit that places people from non-traditional educational backgrounds into apprenticeships, and bombed it hard. Everything that I ever learned flew out one ear, leaving me staring like an idiot at the screen.

Just means I need to practice more, I guess. I never suffered from testing anxiety before, but I guess I must have picked it up. :smith:

it wasn't for something I am at all qualified for or interested in, but it made me feel like i was doing something right.

actual iq testing by professionals is expensive, so employers tend not to bother. (it also doesn't particularly correlate to success, but some employers still fetishize IQ)

personality inventories are filled with questions that impact protected classes, so employers who do do personality inventory like things tend to ask a small segment of questions that are tightly focused. they are used in an automated hiring process for associates at burger flipping chains and retail positions.

My credit cards are a legacy from college cuz I had to live on my own and work 3 jobs to get through and the cards helped me eat when things got tight. They're one of those things that I could pay off if I made it to deece figgies. .

like seriously get some personal finance help. i've been there, when you grow up broke as a joke you handle money in stupid ways.

what i have learned about complexity:

traversing the a list in nested loops = bad

putting things in a hash and looking them up = good

learning what magic words i need to say to indicate that i've been acculturated and thus suitable for consumption by capitalism = best
