I don't really want to buy expensive games because they may pop up in humble monthly so I'm only going for the really cheap stuff. I'm definitely getting pixeljunk shooter ultimate for $2 (a remaster of both games in 1), sandmason, possibly shardlight by wadjet eye at $4.50. maybe legend of kay anniversary. some other adventure games that are really cheap.

Sokobond - puzzle game by the You Built a Snowman guy
Tales of Symphonia - I generally bounce off of JRPGs but man I just want one to click with me again
Age of Gladiators - I like sports management games a lot. the idea of a gladiator sports management game has me rock hard
Akin - a puzzle game where you draw a line. I like basic puzzle games like Lyne and Hexcells and whatnot a lot, this seems like it has that aesthetic / style
Siralim - pokemon on the PC with random dungeons?
Circa Infinity - this looks like an insane platformer and I like weird games
Abzu - walking (swimming) simulator by the guy who made Journey?
Turok - I said I would buy this when it hit 5$, so ... I'm not sure how much Kaiser gets out of this, but I hope it's something
ASDAD: All Star Dungeons and Diamonds - this looks like a pretty fun coop puzzle game I could play with my kid
Just want to mention that if you bought the itch.io A Good Bundle I think Sokobond is in that. I don't remember what tier it was in so you may want to check.

The only other game on that list I've played is Tales of Symphonia and I am NOT the one to ask for an opinion on that

What kind of mood are you in? Slime Rancher is really chill but early access, INSIDE is a lot like Limbo so it's bleak, Volume is like VR Missions or Marvelous Miss Take but with a lot of british writing

this is also me learning for the first time that Pac-Man 256 is on Steam

How complete is Slime Rancher? I kinda have my eye on it.
Right now.. there's about 6-8 hrs of content in it I'd say. You have the ranch, and then the main explorable area outside the exit which will be your main loop for the first couple of hours. Then you'll make enough money to unlock either The Grotto or the Overgrowth, which expands your ranch and also has a path to a new area to explore (and usually a slime key door). So then that's added to the loop. Then you'll find the Slime Gordos, feed them to bursting, and get Slime Keys which will get you access to two more areas, the Indigo Quarry and Moss Blanket which have brand new slimes not available outside those areas. Finally, you'll make enough money to unlock the lab, where you buy blueprints, harvest materials, then use those materials to build stuff that will make your life easier, like teleporters, defensive turrets, etc.

They're at version 0.4.1 right now which they put out this month. 0.5.0 is supposed to add another new area and slime type, and 0.6.0 is supposed to add the final area. I assume they'll use the remaining roadmap to sprinkle more stuff around the world, add more paths, etc. I'm going to guess the thing will be done by the summer, but who knows with Early Access games.

since i'm paranoid about buying any game over $10 due to being a humble monthly subscriber, i'm looking at cleaning up a lot of my cheaper wishlist items. i've got these in the mix right now:

Airscape, Karma Incarnation 1, Magatama Earrings, Evo Explores, Refunct, Sandmason, Lucidity, Nom Nom Galaxy, Toren, Alpha Polaris, Traverser, The Sea Will Claim Everything, Drunken Robot Pornography, Crimson Room Decade, Shardlight, Deathtrap, Tick Tock Bang Bang, Pharaoh Rebirth, Legend of Kay Anniversary, Magnetta, Deadly Tower of Monsters, Wasted, Virginia, Fortified, Ghost 1.0, Sublevel Zero, NeonXSZ, Stories: Path of Destinies, Orwell, Creepy Castle

Not getting all of them obviously. but it shouldn't be too hard to whittle some of those down (starting with games that pop up in weeklong deals frequently cause i can get those later)

There are new hidden gems every year it's just that no one wants to wade through all the steam greenlit garbage to find it. but they're there. just from my 50 indies of 2016 alone:

Defunct - $1.99 - as fast as sonic but with wide open spaces instead of bullshit
Pony Island - $1.64 - meta game about escaping a demonic arcade cabinet
Khimera - free - punching megaman where you become everyones friend
Seraph - $4.41 - sidescrolling acrobatic shooter roguelite
Princess Remedy: first game free, second game $2.69 - really good 'healing' games by daniel remar (ittle dew, hero core, card city nights)
Rusty Lake Hotel - $0.99 - escape the room game with morbid but silly premise
Cubotrox - $2.99 - magical drop meets pictobits
Highrise Heroes - $1.24 - tile puzzle game with a goofy loving story
LiEat - $2.09 - JRPG trilogy of little supernatural detective stories
Blitz Breaker - $0.98 - fast action platformer where you can't stop once you move in a direction until you hit a wall

I almost have enough to get The Witness but I'm a Humble Monthly subscriber and i'm pretty dang sure it will be a headliner of the bundle in 2017 at some point, so I'm getting other games instead. QUBE, Culpa Innata, RYB, Crimson Room Decade for sure. Still leaves me with some money left over though. I'm lookin at these games..

Root
Dead End Road
Projector Face
My Night Job
Factotum 90
Cubixx HD

I'll have to decide on maybe 2-3 of them. Also I realize that maybe listing these games is pointless because no one knows what the gently caress they are but me.

Happy new year everyone! I have keys for some games I already have so have at them! Claim em or whatever and I'll PM you or something. (note: i'm not sure WHY i have these dupe keys? I dunno if Humble Bundle gave me dupe keys by accident or if I really did just buy a lot of bundles with overlapping games this past year, so hopefully the gift links work when you get them!)
