Infinity had Tech-Coolies which had to get changed to to Tech-Bees, that's a sexualised mini for ya. Great game though if you don't get some fan service poo poo get in the way

Cinnamon Bear posted:

Yes there are fluff reasons for these, but it doesn't change the fact its a very orientalist, western view.
Probs because the perceived game market is stuffed full of weebs and fat neckbeards who lap that poo poo up.

The issue with this one and the line it belongs to was it was supposed to be pin up style stuff and allow the sculptors the freedom to make what they wanted. It doesn't officially represent any unit that sees the tabletop but now they're releasing an actual unit model dressed exactly like that and it's extraordinarily shameful.
yeah I couldnt find the new one and couldn't be arsed to look for more than a minute for a jpeg and tbh it doesn't make much of a difference if you dont play infinity

The crossbow pistol discussion reminded me of the vaulters from Endless Legend, whose crossbows look like assault rifles:

Only in that case it works because their ancestor crashed onto the fantasy planet in a spaceship and of course they're trying to look like the mighty warriors of old.
a minis game with Amplitude designed models would be cool. admittedly i just want cravers in a tabletop game

Make it a skirmish dugeon crawler thing with a premise like Frostgrave. Loot Endless stuff in either fantasy or scifi. Gather Dust to fuel magic and buy new stuff. Become the most beatiful Horatio.

Now i rellay want that game.

Pretty sure it's about the same price as Scythe. My friend got it on Amazon a couple weeks ago for $60.
Scythe is £60 here and Rebellion is £84 (rounding here), FS is £63 though which is less than I thought it was. I get a 1/3 off that price with work discount but still, I'm not a big enough SW fan to splurge on it and I'm trying to make up my mind on Doom.

Whats the XCOM board game like?

Agree on SA being a better panic oh poo poo game but I like the game. App is pretty immersive and combat is savage. The game can snowball out of control if you let the early game slip and the expansion is super fun. Me and my buddies really like XCOM I just wish the scientist had more tasks to do in 4 player games.

The infinity starters are 90 euros right now, and my understanding is that those give you about 1/3 of a tournament army list.

The bigger more expensive boxes are a full army list (decent ones iirc) and the smaller starters that are 6 models are 1/3-1/2 size of a regular army list.
