I have finally gotten around to buying the Frostgrave Rulebook and a box of their new Barbarians. I'm excited!

I dunno, before;
They cut the number of minis you got in a box (without changing the price) and pushed for having units twice the size they were in the rules;
Started making huge, unwieldy monsters for every faction that were either really good or really poo poo;
Showed the fans how they, GW, really felt about their not-French and 'bad guy' factions...

It was better? Maybe? I dunno...

Can i just say that; the Frostgrave Rulebook is a joy to hold.
It's not some huge gently caress-off tome that you need both hands to comfortably hold but neither is it too small or short. I don't feel scared of breaking the spine of the thing when reading through it, like a lot of books you get. The artwork is great, from the border around each page to the full page spreads of a wizard and i love the alternate ideas and sketches they left at the bottom of some of the pages.

I will say, though; at least one page extra worth of text, just for added clarification of some things, would have been nice.

It's a good book.

I agree with Pierzak on the look of them. They come close to being great but something gets in the way.
And yeah, it looks like they are combining them. The woman makes me think Craftworld but she's hauling around a Husk Blade and the duder with the fur cape seems to have bits of both Eldar and DEldar. Is he meant to be a new Phoenix Lord, or something? He looks very bulky compared to other space elves.
As for the purple guy... gently caress, just why?

You know, i have an easier time picturing the repeater crossbow from Vermintide working over this thing. Like, it's pretty loving clear that very little, if any thought, was put into the look of those pistol things. It just looks like they took a pistol from any place and strapped a bow to it.

Just like the new Inquisitor model!

The sad thing too is that, their spiel has them as the scouts of the army and that they have "less bulky armour" than the others. How are they? It's the exact same armour, you just gave them larger capes and some poo poo on the front!

Watching people play the game, all the bugs i've seen are around connectivity and ladders. Like, Ubisoft must know by now that their Uplay service is notorious for being poo poo and yet, they're still going with it. Not to mention they decided to make it PtP and not server based, which is insane.

New Eldar up for pre-order. And by 'new' i mean, "poo poo we've had lying around from 1990 to now!"
They have the jetbike kit up on their pre-order page, as well as a Vyper squadron kit. Three of the same, old, out dated Vypers that should have been brought in line ages ago.
You have the formations, which we already had some idea of which, again, is just whatever they could slap together and then, you have the Triumvirate box, for 125 Aussie fun-bux.

Whee!

SERIOUSLY! THE loving CLOWNS GOT A VENOM/VYPER THING BEFORE THE VYPER GOT AN UPDATE! WHERE'S THE loving SENSE IN THAT GW!??!?!??!?/1?1/11

It's more that, if you placed it next to a venom or the harlequin whatsit, you can see its age. I just want it freshened up, as well as making the heavy weapon mount interchangeable between the War Walkers and Heavy Weapon Platforms.

Also, plastic Aspects when?

eternal crusade is one of the 3 or 4 steam refunds ive gotten. its real bad

Oh, no doubt. I still feel like i should experience how poo poo it is, though, you know?
Like, all the videos i've seen of it points to a rather bland game, that promised a lot more than it could deliver (seems to be a trend this decade) and shoots itself in the foot with certain decisions that were made in production. The voice acting is so loving over the top and the SFX are anemic, at best and you can tell a lot of their attention went more into marines than the others.

But i'm still going to give it a go, just so i can say "I played the lovely game and it was poo poo."
Like Dark Souls 2!

You know what playing Eternal Crusade reminds me of? Day of Defeat: Source. You can be dumping a full MG box into someone, who's just standing behind a knee high rock, unmoving and yet, he lives and you're the one who copped an SMG round to the noggin from down field.

You know what else? I miss Quake Wars: Enemy Territory. I loved poking around corners and building poo poo in that game. Strogg!

Oh, god, it's even more GW than that. If I'm reading the most recent blog correctly, this game is still listing on Steam at $50, but can be picked up FTP and costs $20 in-game to upgrade to the full version.

Yep. What they've done is; as you play, you get experience, in-game minor currency and skill points to upgrade poo poo but if you're playing for free, you only get, like, a third of it. The rest is displayed prominently in a little window with a big button that says - GO PREMIUM!

Edit: I have uninstalled the lovely game. First time I left a review for anything, too.

Every new vid of DoW3 i watch, i seem to find something new to pick at.
Why do the Eldar structures seem so lifeless and not Eldar-esque enough? Why do the Spess Mahreens sound like Orks half the time? Why does the voice acting in general (particularly Orks but also, in general) seem all over the place? Why does the Pulse Laser on the Falcon fire twisty, curvy balls of light, rather than a momentary beam of light? Why do Lascannons continuously fire and ramp up over time? Why is there only one multiplayer mode on launch and why does it have to have an ancient you have to kill to win?

That last one in particular - I mean, how is that available before standard multiplayer? Is it because all of their maps are poo poo and they, just like Starcraft back in the beginning of its life, don't have a dude dedicated to make fun, interesting and balanced maps? It makes me think they just tried to take what DoW2 did with their maps and not actually understand why it works there and not in something like DoW3; it was about map control, all about map control and reducing your opponent's VPs to nil. It was nigh impossible to actually kill the opponents base, unless it was 3v3 and even then...
