We've not spent a nickel in transfer fees this year. Covered incoming players with outgoings and parachute payments. Westwood off to Burnley for 5m as we speak.

I'm not convinced. Newcastle and Norwich have the same amount in parachute payments and both have made sure to balance the books in terms of ~net spend~. Villa are spending like I've never seen a Championship club do.

I think the idea is that you spend as much as feasibly possible to go up again before the parachute payments run out or else you're hosed and stuck in the championship forever. We'll be in FFP hell if we don't go up by the end of 2019, but we're set pretty well for the current regulations
