TheBigAristotle posted:What's the appropriate value of a guy out of contract in 6 months? Genuinely curious. Snodgrass' performances this season seem to merit more money, but I'm not ITK He's out of contract in 18 months because Hull had an option to extend it for year which they used. They did it with a bunch of their players. edit: "Hull, bottom of the Premier League have announced they have triggered one-year options on the contracts of Snodgrass, Michael Dawson, Andrew Robertson, Jake Livermore, Harry Maguire and Abel Hernández."

Hashtag Banterzone posted:It doesn't make sense to me. Chelsea have Luiz, Cahill, Terry and Zouma that are all natural CBs. Azpillicueta has looked pretty good on the right and Ivanovic should be an ok backup as well. And then Chalobah could probably slot in anywhere in the back 3 as well. So that's 7 players for 3 positions. Terry is 80 years old and completely dead. Cahill is alright, but nothing more. Ideally Azpilicueta would be playing the right wing back role if he hasn't forgotten how to be a right back at this point

Speaking of transfers and fun, this is an amazing article. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/jan/17/west-ham-strikers-david-sullivan-gold-simone-zaza-scott-hogan quote:West Ham would be wise to pause and consider a statistic that should make David Sullivan and David Gold wince. In the seven years since the pair bought the club, West Ham have completed 32 deals for new strikers for four different managers and the numbers make for grim reading. Between them those players have managed 128 goals in 643 games.

Are there any recent stories about players not getting paid in China? I know Drogba said that he hadn't been paid and used it at his reason for tearing up the contract and moving to Galatasaray, but that was some years ago now and just the one club. I mean, Dario Conca has been there for ages now as one of the highest paid players in the world so the money is obviously there.
