You didn't know about the delete unit function? That means you missed out on the joy of selecting your entire army and mashing delete when the victory screen came up.

Also bear in mind that in future videos you may want to fast forward the base building sequences once they've gotten routine. It's good to see how they work for the first few times, but a lot of missions later on will have dead air where you're doing nothing interesting.

Smiling Knight posted:One thing though is that while you gave excellent detail on much of your choices, a couple decisions went completely unexplained. First, going all toxetes and no hoplites (this one could probably be guessed via context -- AI only builds axes). Second, only walling off one entrance. You are probably waiting for a later episode for the Exploiting AI Omniscient Pathfinding lecture, though. Or least, that's about half the reason I was able to ever get through Titan. Point being, you made some choices that might be obvious to experts, but might seem counter intuitive. This. You don't have to go into detail prematurely, just give a one line explanation like "I'm not using any infantry because the AI is building axemen which specialise against infantry" or "I'm only walling one entrance off to abuse the enemy AI, which I'll explain in more detail in a future video".

I don't know why, but I really like Arkantos' voice actor.

I wouldn't mind seeing bonus videos of you doing dumb stuff like that in other missions. Are you capable of destroying the base in the last Atlantis mission?

I really enjoy watching you break this game over your knee.

Melth posted:Oh! Come to think of it, if you play the very first mission very badly on Titan difficulty, Arkantos's son Kastor can get killed up on that cliff he starts on. He's an ally rather than an enemy but not actually under your control. I guess if you had stashed a villager up in Atlantis for this purpose and if you held back from using your giant army of reinforcements to win, you could delete Kastor. That'll teach him to want to go to Troy with his dad. You don't even need to play badly. He got killed for me by errant lightning strikes.

Gargarensis is a good bad guy. Also, speaking of unique missions. That's something I really appreciate in a good RTS. One of the best examples has to be Starcraft II which has serious effort put into making the missions feel unique. Also also, if you're planning on doing side videos where you do missions the Wrong Way, would it be possible to see Gargarensis' base trashed without using God Arkantos?

Emperordaein posted:Jaysus that Son of Osiris. I was not expecting Titan to get that brutal on these limited deployment missions. Also, they seemed to have removed a unit sent at you on Moderate The Scarabs Who I suppose wouldn't be as big a threat as the more numerous Catapults. One note about the former unit is that having one absolutely saved my rear end on the Final Mission of Fall of the Trident Their early game human soldiers do suck, but then you build a Migdol Stronghold.

IIRC you even get Set as a patron during one of the Fall of the Trident missions.

The only hard thing about this mission is the ambush at the pass on your first run when you don't know about it. One kind of neat thing about it is that while the enemy controls the cart, they send weaker amounts of reinforcements than if you control it.

I admit at first I thought it was disappointing when it seemed that this was going to be a gimmick speedrun playthrough instead of a normal one but I quickly learned to enjoy seeing Age of Mythology being broken over your knee and now I wouldn't have it any other way.

cheetah7071 posted:What was the goal in that mission? Firstly, build a town center. Secondly, rescue imprisoned Atlanteans. By design, that would involve a slog through a heavily forified island with several bases and large armies. How Melth did it, it took five minutes.
