Might also open up scholarship opportunities, if your GI Bill and YR don't cover everything

These opportunities tend to be overstated. Don't buy a $100 raffle ticket for a scholarship imo.

I floated the idea of skipping graduation when I was visiting my parents with one semester to go. It's Christmas morning and my dad and I spend a good 5-10 minutes batting around ideas for other stuff to do on that weekend—a family trip to the beach or even something ambitious like flying to New York for a few days. Then I hear my mom sob behind me.

Needless to say, I walked.

6 months left of benefits. What is the best way to use this for graduate stuff?

I am tempted to maybe try for a doctorate because of how oddly specific the degree is and how it relates to me (PhD in Semiotics and Small Cultures). That one is in Europe.

There is another in europe that would be ok but also put me in debt by the second year and is only for a masters.

I could also potentially go here, and have free tutition via California state benefits. The problem is income for this one.

Any suggestions?

Use your benefits, sure, but don't get a PhD anywhere that won't pay you to be there. This thread is helpful.

I finished grad school a couple months ago, the last year was the best year of my adult life. YMMV
