Hot new take: Nine Lives is just a prequel to American Beauty.
I watched Nine Lives and it seemed like it might be an okay family film.

Without that caveat, it just as bad as you imagine.

Depends on the area. It's great in the mid-Atlantic and northeast regions, but gently caress me is it a complete disaster in the flyover states (mostly because outside of the Northeast Corridor, it doesn't own any of the track it operates on, so the trains -- when they're not breaking down, that is -- always have to defer to freight trains).
If I were doing like a summer explore America type trip, that seems like it could be fun as long as you had a comfortable enough bed and free wifi for your laptop.

I just saw a TV spot for the new Underworld movie, and holy smokes that looks shockingly bad.

I doubt it makes even half it's production/marketing budget back after the worldwide take.
International gross is a bit more than production budget so far, so it looks like they could break even.

There are a couple regular bars I haven't been to in 2 weeks so I feel obligated to visit and say hi to the staff but it's cold and I have heartburn or something. Also there is a floof cat napping in my arm.

I decided to visit my local bar but the both bartenders inadvertently made me a drink so now I'm stuck here for a while. :(

Edit: I think I just saw an Ashley Madison commercial :psyduck:

Fifty Shades Darker coming out this weekend reminds me of one of my greatest regrets, that I didn't go see Fifty Shades of Grey in a theater on opening night.

A couple days ago, I noticed the center armrest in my car was open. Nothing seemed to obviously be missing, but I did think it was very strange.

Just now, putting the trash out, I noticed some cards lying about my lawn. Specifically: my Sam's Club card, Top Golf card, and Starbucks card.

Now, I live in an ostensibly safe residential neighborhood, and my car is parked in a carport when at home, less than 3 feet away from a door, so I don't lock it. But the idea that someone went into and rummaged through it... I feel violated.

My only consolation is imagining the burglar, attempting to steathily walk away, flipping through the cards, upset that he had committed a felony with nothing to show for it.

edit: He may have keyed it but I don't have any before photos of the damaged area.

Yeah, it's just hard to get used to. I live in an orthodox Jewish neighborhood with all families, so you'd think there would be zero crime.

It's a far cry from growing up in smallish town Minnesota when people wouldn't even lock the door to their house.
