Sorry to ask the obvious but have you checked the file structure on the USB drive is exactly right? I was having trouble for ages reinstalling my PS4 OS and then I realised the folder structure on the drive wasn’t correct.

Control on PS4 was miserable with the load times. You’re better off just turning on the never die mode in the accessibility settings to avoid those endless load screens.

I know money is different to everyone but buying a secondhand PS4 these days is an absolute mug's game. The hardware is ancient, loud and you'll be stuck with a lovely, slow HDD.The biggest problem is that they're ridiculously expensive for a decade old machine.
