Does anyone have thoughts on Warhammer Quest? I just realized that I really like all the models in the Silver Tower box, but I'd only buy it if the game is worth a few playthroughs.

Anyone in the states want to split an Escher box since it's two identical sprues? I want to build 5 gangers but not 10.

It's good in X-Wing because the movement is by templates anyway, so judging your end location is both doable and adds some skill to the game. Picking the right move to make sure you swing up next to an asteroid instead of landing right on top of it and blowing up your ship is a good example of how the game can feel pretty exciting because of that rule.

What are people's thoughts about Necromunda as a core game experience? Does it play well with just the included board and scenarios?

Arven posted:No? I'm talking about stub guns not autopistols. -1 +2 = +1 overall. Two shots at 3+ are better than one at 2+. He said clan Escher, they can't take stub guns.

Overkill probably isn't the right choice for necromunda unless you absolutely have to have the aberrants or can sell the deathwatch side to make it worth it. It's all fixed poses with a duplicate of each, so it's good for filling in a GSC army but not for getting different weapons and poses. If you were going to spend that much I would just get the genestealer cults battleforce on ebay, it's a good discount on those kits when bought together.

berzerkmonkey posted:Does anyone know if the gang cards in the base set are the same as the Escher and Goliath cards that are sold individually? They're not, I think there's a big spreadsheet, or it's in that rules compilation. Both the generic and gang specific cards are different than what's in the box.

JcDent posted:Ugh, no? Just compared some Primarines to some oldies and Primarine legs are way longer. Yeah that article is really weird, he says the legs are only slightly longer but in his pictures you can see that they are like 40% longer. Most of the extra primaris height seems to be in the legs, with everything else besides the heads and shoulder pads getting slightly bulkier.

Whether a team is under FW or not doesn't seem to matter, the shadespire releases have been amazing in every way. If anything the main lines need to take a lesson from how much value you can fit into a $30 box like the shadespire warbands.

The Blood Bowl 2 pc game is a really great way to learn, it's an excellent port. It does a lot of the book keeping for you but you'll at least get a feel for the rules

Necromunda seems awesome but I'm wary of it because there are probably a few really broken options that I should be aware of if my friends and I were to start a campaign. I heard a lot about grenade launchers being overpowered for the points, is that still the case?

Eediot Jedi posted:Annoyed. If the octarius box had the compendium in it, it'd be an instant buy for me. I have enough dudes from various factions around to make a few kill teams, making more of those is a lot more appealing than going full size 40k, I'm ok with the DKoK but the Kommandos look fantastic. yeah it's the worst part of what otherwise seems like an awesome new edition. 100 bucks for the rules alone is too much, and they also want you to buy their essentials kit for the combat gauges which is another 35 bucks. I've had a hard time getting my friends excited about this

Like come on dudes, I want to use these sick BT bowl haircuts and muscle armour you sold me, but not if they're all carrying exactly the equipment doing exactly the same thing. It will probably be a while, they seem content to update factions with new rules in White Dwarf. I'm very surprised at the lack of new space marine rules though considering how anemic the ones in the compendium are.
