I know a lot of that poo poo went down offsite, like through IRC. Still, every GDT would have her picture. At first it was kind of funny, like when someone posts fan reactions and such. Then all of the sudden the pics were no longer screen caps from ESPN and instead was stuff that was clearly from her Facebook. It, uh, escalated from there. I don't think most people actually knew it was going on until some people clearly crossed a line.

One day someone called in and gave a barely edited rant laced with homophobic slurs about kerry collins. he frequently said "loving fag" and the only thing edited was like the smallest part of loving you could possibly bleep out and still say you did it. it went on for like 90 seconds. it was amazing, especially to a 12 year old or however old i was.

the next day they spent the whole show apologizing and basically asking people not to sue.

I love that the FCC only responds to complaints instead of actively investigating stations. Its how the spanish language stations in Miami can get away with almost anything.

There were like maybe 80 people at my wedding. I get it, its a full mass so way longer than other weddings. Our reception had about 240 people so that was fun. Two live bands with a DJ in between and after, continuous buffet style food, but at around 2 am they brought out sancocho, which is a Panamanian chicken soup for people to get a second wind.

that sounds expensive.

It does, however there are several mitigating factors. First, it was in Panama where liquor, food, and service costs all around are lower. Second, back in the 70's her dad joined a country club at exactly the right time. What would cost $100,000 today cost him next nothing. The club gives discounts to members holding parties at the club. The total cost of the wedding: food, bands, DJ, venue, etc was maybe a fifth the cost than had it been in the US.
