Pitt defeated the Big 10 champion as well as the ACC champion and National Championship winner. And lost to UNC.

Life's funny like that sometimes.

Bob Stoops was probably a bit underrated as s coach, given his consistency and the fact that he won a Natty so early.

However, he did have a gift for making games against bad Texas teams competitive, so he will be missed during the Red River Shootout.
