JonathonSpectre posted:Having watched essentially this same game back in 2013, where FSU got the ball back with ~90 seconds to go and then >Mortal Kombat voice< FINISHED THEM, I know how Clemson feels right now. People would un-ironically call for Saban to be fired if that happens. But yes, it's been way too long since FSU won a championship.

JonathonSpectre posted:There are people on my social media already saying poo poo like, "The game has passed him by." What must it be like to be this far up your own rear end in a top hat? Most teams would burn down their own stadium to have Saban and he loses one loving game, in the literal last second, to a legit great team, and (some of) his own fans are talking poo poo? Atlanta should be on loving fire for that game.

Winning record against other Power 5 conferences, as well.

iospace posted:See, the ACC is the black sheep of the power 5. No one takes them seriously outside of FSU for football, though now Clemson and Louisville have been putting people on notice. Though it feels like the Big 12 is now headed to the "irrelevant conference of the power 5" as of late (which loops into how narrative plays such a big factor in determining who a "strong" team/conference is). I've been talking up ACC chaos/ACC meatgrinder for years.

iospace posted:I've only been active here in SAS only recently, to be fair. Though if you've talked to me outside of here (read: real life), I've been very vocal about how narrative determines how "good" a team/conference is or isn't in terms of public perception. Right now the spotlight is on the Big 10 and SEC. Soon enough it'll change. I was mostly joking, riffing off the tendency of even good ACC teams to have one wtf loss to a mediocre conference opponent.

Yeah, the feds usually don't step in about sex crimes unless it's over state lines or it's some really hosed multi-state pedophilia ring or something. They still wouldn't go to a Club Fed, not for sex crimes.
