the nothing matters meme is shorthand for the idea that political polarization makes rational argument and even simple facts useless because people will always choose the narrative that they prefer over and above all logical reason, even if their preferred narrative is 100% bonkers the nothing matters meme is good and correct

I genuinely believe that people are essentially good, and that we will overcome our divisive national rhetoric and recognize that we accidenally elected a traitor compromised by Russia. This will be painful. But we, as a nation, will find a compromise and select a centrist Republican to replace Trump.
