Radio war nerd is fantastic, and John absolutely deserves the money. He's making a decent income from this though, so I can't understand why he is so insistent on being homeless in Europe. The episode on Nukes is up for free and definitely worth listening to. https://www.patreon.com/posts/radio-war-nerd-6499706

Army of Darkness is not a war movie... Huge disappointment. Surprised they didn't talk about Jarhead. I remember it being the sort of war movie that Dolan said would never be made, where it's just infantry following up on a bunch of positions that are bombed out by the air force. Jarhead was basically about the hero dealing with the disappointment of not getting to kill anyone.

Helsing posted:and especially episode 76 where they interview the late Robert Parry, a very important American investigate journalist who helped break some of the biggest stories of the 1980s on Reagan's dirty war in south America. This one is particularly great, but of all the War Nerd episodes this probably left me the most depressed. Parry did fantastic journalism and seemed to just get hosed over at every opportunity...

the bitcoin of weed posted:John getting fired from uVic is one of the funniest war nerd adventures, he ends up spending all of their savings on a boat because his and his wifes rent is too expensive and they also have a dog somehow and they end up wintering on this unheated boat in the harbor with some local sea creatures and it nearly drives them insane. Wish I could find the articles but search engines are useless It used to be on Pando, but that all seems to be gone now. Only place left is here. https://www.amazon.com/Canada-Was-Cakewalk-John-Dolan-ebook/dp/B00CL0KE94/ref=kwrp_li_stb_nodl?nodl_android=1
