I bought a Wii power supply that made the picture on my Wii horribly distorted. It died quickly too. I wish I took a picture of the circuit board from when I took it apart, because even if you showed it to someone who knew nothing about electronics they would immediately say "That's hosed up".

I might be mistaken, but if the material feels really hard and has no give, it's likely enamel. This would mean that the colours get packed in the metal base by hand, so if you want a better one, just order several and hope to get a good one, though you'll never get one where they're exactly even with the metal. This is because enamel is essentially glass powder you pack in and then fire in the oven to melt it smooth, which leaves the material slightly dipped. To combat this, you'd overpack (which runs the risk of the melted enamel running out from its bounds, like has obvs happened with the orange enamel on the lower stripe though it hasn't melted into the other colour at least) or fire and pack in several goes, filing the final product smooth and even. Got my Pharah figure... only it's not really an action figure. Used one of my wife's Barbie stands to hold her up on one of my toy shelves.

Re: Pet heating pads from a page back. I got a cheap one and my cat has been very impressed with it this winter. It was rated for 220V, so on 120V mains here it’s running much below its rated output power. That’s my safety justification, anyways.
