My other stick pc (N9505) uses a usb-c plug, but its a specific 12V 2A rating. I have bought replacements from ali for $15 shipped. It's going to be more expensive than an EU adopter.

If you don’t need tiny and lower power, you’ll probably get more bang for your buck on Marketplace. I just put together a 4690k with 32gb of RAM, a bunch of storage, and a GTX970 for $95 ($50 computer, $45 gpu, plus installing windows on my own because it used to be a media server or something).

I've realised I need to replace my ~7yo eBay carbon bike wheels because the brake tracks are finally done

A few people have asked in here recently about it - did any of you find any stores worth checking out?
If not I'm just gonna buy from the one I've posted a few times in the thread.

From what I can see most of the stores are priced about the same (or look extremely dodgy. e.g. "cosmic" wheels with novatec hubs)

I bought a carbon front tubular wheel from this company back in 2018:

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1100405232?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_promotion.pcShopHead_506644419.0

It was well made, and didn't seem like they skimped out on anything. I used it for a couple years, maybe hundreds of miles on crappy back country asphalt roads, and it's still on my tri bike.

At the time, they had a bunch of pics showing their materials testing process and all of their certifications, but those might have been bs.

I got the Pocket 386 today, it is actually a shockingly competent product this time that fixes most of the complaints with the previous models! You can now toggle between the lcd and video out, there is a trimpot to adjust the adlib volume and they added a neat OSD menu to adjust the display settings. It even defaults to a proper 4:3 ratio and the display panel they used isn't hot garbage (but could be better, it's still not ips)

the most exciting detail is that it has a tiny internal isa connector with nothing installed, which means there is a good chance it's possible to make an internal picoGUS and other expansions for it

oh and i think they fixed the lovely charging circuitry so it can actually be powered by external 12v without draining the battery over time

What's the link to the 386 again? Your review (particularly the tiny ISA hole, for which I'd be possibly tempted to make some accessories) has intrigued me.

You don't need to plug in any k/m but I found out if my box doesn't have any mouse plugged in the mouse cursor look different. So I plugged in a logitech wireless mouse thing.

I installed Ubuntu server on both of mine and control them via SSH, they do great! If you want to stick with Windows you’ll need a keyboard and video for the initial setup but yeah after you turn Remote Desktop on you should be good to go.

Hey guys I am searching for some kind of labeling solutions I wonder if this thread can help me. Basically I am in the process of taking over a big double garage. The previous owners were a couple of 80 year olds, they had so many insanely old poo poo in it. Like a giant box of family slides and display equipments which had at least a thousand slides which their children don't want anymore. Also a mechanical casher machine I have never seen before because it was way before my time. It was so big I thought it was a slot machine and must weight 50 lbs at least.

And because I had to clean out so many old stuff that had been quietly rotting in the shadow for 30+ years I thought about getting a long lasting labeling solutions. I came across a Dymo embossing label printer in their junk and I like it a lot. I found out I can still buy this mechanical label printer online. However the font is too small for me. I want some way to make big labels, definitely not the brother p-touch tapes I have now because I know the sublimation labels won't last 10 years. I am thinking about getting either scribble wood tiles letters or children learning colored letters and nail them to the boxes. However the letters only come in random colors.

What about this wood/leather branding kit, think it will work on milk crate plastic?

St_Ides
May 19, 2008
It might work on milk crate plastic, but that’ll get brittle and crack at some point too.

Cut open some aluminum drink cans and emboss that it’ll last forever and a day.

Though personally I’d find a cheap 3d printer and use that to make a stack of embossed labels

SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS
It'll definitely work a few times, but I bet it will quickly get gunked up with carbonized plastic that is impossible to get off

Nice I ordered mine a bit later, so they say they received the order at the 16th at 00:01 o'clock. So the 6 day delivery window still lasts till the 24th.
Though I got a message that it left the customs office, possibly. And the transit region.

And they gave me local tracking numbers. Without specifying the tracking operators they belong to. Luckily I am familiar with the different ways the major local companies format their tracking numbers.

Aliexpress have upped their game on refunds
It seems you now just get a return shipping label and they refund you as soon as it's in the postal network

Unless something funky kicked in, because it didn't even go into "we are waiting for the seller to respond" just went straight to the "we've stepped in on your behalf, waiting for your return"

I had something that got lost in the mail that I ordered in February. The item was clearly lost by DHL and didn’t update for like 6 weeks. I submitted for a refund like a month ago and it denied it and said to be patient because it still has tracking status and to submit more information or respond. Purchase protection expired in early may. I just ignored it and then they refunded me last week. No idea how it works or is supposed to work for lost items.

I had to go through a dispute on a non-delivery just recently. I ordered a vinyl sticker for my scrapbook in January (the 23rd). Last tracking info is "Customs clearance started", from Feb 19th.

When it timed out, I raised a dispute, and after the grace period, AliExpress decided on a full refund in my favor. So, I ordered another similar sticker, which has already arrived.

It'll probably turn up in another couple of months or so. I think my dad still has to have the record for longest wait for something sent from China, he ordered a set of bowls that somehow took about 6 months to arrive.
