I think we can all agree, then, that getting rid of the unambiguous enemy is a good way to proceed.

Of course, but not if you replace them with another enemy.

A democrat that's also for regulatory capture and corporate interests is also an unambiguous enemy, but a more insidious one, because liberals will back them completely while they set the tables for failure.

The danger here is much like the unstated danger of the republican tax bill. These things could be easily restored if the democrats take power, but the obvious fear is, why would anyone think the neoliberal democrats will actually fight for that?

Man, net neutrality was actually something we had. This isn't a "I know that they support it in their hearts" thing; we had it under Obama, and now Trump is taking it away. We also saw what the Democrats do when they gain power after a massive Republican tax cut was passed; they raised taxes on the rich. Whether the tax increase was high enough is a different question, but it's insane to pretend that the parties are the same here. Unless you genuinely believe that Obama intended to sabotage everything from the start.

It is agonizing to see this country getting burned to ash while people argue that the firefighters, flawed as they may be, secretly support the fire. Especially coming from people who will make out better than most. What's the point of this dishonest cynicism? Is it just "LOL nothing matters"?

^^^ They didn't raise taxes on the rich they just let the previous tax cuts for the rich expire without renewing them

What's the functional difference there? And the ACA was paid for with new taxes on the rich.

lmao ya your one vote totally determines the discrete outcome of elections. Perhaps it’s you who is the ignorant one, sport.

How can anyone possibly claim to be a socialist if their strategy for elections is "EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF"? Elections are where like-minded people select the candidate that will best advance their common interests. Seeing elections as a signaling mechanism for your individual preferences is the most capitalistic approach possible.

I don't get that one. It's so tangentially related to Christmas that it's not even a winter song, let alone a Christmas song.

I think that was the original reason for the Matrix, but the producers didn't understand it.

I have no idea how to start this personal statement for my grad school application. The application doesn't have a letter of intent so that's throwing me off a bit. The admissions person said it doesn't have to be flowery and to keep it short and focused. I am talking to her again tomorrow, but I want to have something to work with before I do. Do I write about an actual life experience? Some lame rear end work project? :iiam:

Write about something that you know well, or have strong feelings about. You'll want to be as specific as possible. Don't try to include every single reason they should accept you. "Short and focused" is exactly right.

If you were talking abour lovely democrats than who the gently caress are you talking about.

I was complaining about media types who keep running Trump voter profiles and worry so much about having a liberal bias that they slide right into a conservative bias. Not sure how this became about the Dems or "the Resistance."
