The sad hawk is one of the best logos ever, please don't besmirch it.EmbryoSteve posted:stoned seahawk captures Seattle Culture way better and is drawn from local native artists (i'm unsure if they asked permission tho) The old logo was designed by Marvin Oliver, an native American artist who did that gigantic whale art instillation in the Seattle Children's Hospital too. It's a big part of why I like the old logo so much, it shows that the Seahawks did the absolute bare minimum when appropriating Native stuff, something basically no other team has done. I mean, it's a Costacos Bros. poster, they're supposed to be like this. Those guys are based out of Seattle so this is kind of an homage to 90s Seattle sports more than anything--Reign Man and all that. Not like there's a shortage of Russ doing other extremely dorky poo poo with much less explanation. Looking at you, terrifying Lovecfaftian maternity shoot with Ciara.

Reminds me of a Mariners poster I used to have from the early '90s with Kevin Mitchell and somebody else I can't remember at the moment. Pretty sure the tag line was Dynamite Brothers or something. But basically the same idea as that graphic.

Sherman is an outstanding cornerback, but he's never had top-line speed. That was usually covered up by Earl's presence, but if Sherm loses a step after surgery I could see him getting a good deal worse fairly quickly. Still really early in the preseason though, he may just be getting into shape.

Yeah he got burned hard but obviously defense doesn't work one on one like that and it's just one meaningless drill. Against someone like Goodwin Sherm would really have to press well and his initial contact would have to be successful, otherwise he's too slow to keep up and there would have to be safety help. They definitely need to use him in the right way because I feel like he'll have the most success in underneath zone using his experience to jump and defend quick routes. Man coverage down the field will be tough against quicker guys The 49ers mainly play cover 3 though, right? So he will be asked to do that with only one safety deep who may not end up on his side of the field. We'll how they do it I'm pretty excited to see if this whole Richard Sherman thing works out well

Definitely never said anything about being shocked. I already know Sherman is slow, he came into the league a bit slow and he's slower now being older and coming off of an injury. Regardless of the video which doesn't mean anything I'm interested in how they're planning to use him and if there will be any adjustments to take that into consideration. He's so good at recognition and jumping routes that it'd be cool to have him in a coverage that allows him to use those skills as much as possible. Also if he didn't miss the press he would've been right with him even with Goodwin's speed. You don't get a hand on him in that kind of coverage you can say goodbye

An exclusive source leaked the plot to me: Sherman will finally get loads of calls against him as he tries to compensate for losing that extra step he never really had.

I don't know why people still concern-troll over undersized WRs going "over the middle," as if it's this harrowing death march and not just a dummy coach scheming guys in the wrong spots (or a crappy QB tossing them hospital balls). Just because Wes Welker did it for a decade doesn't mean everyone else has to.
