The Jags are pretty much "poo poo, why not 1 more season?" with Bort. I can't say it is the wrong plan at this point.

They might be working on a different contract for him or perhaps ol' Tom Coughlin thinks he sucks and they are going in a different direction. Beachum didn't exactly set the world on fire this season.

I think interior o-line is pretty deep in the draft this year and TE, another area of need, looks decent as well.

I don't see it as a terrible pick. The Jags just need to improve the o-line, which is totally doable with Forrest Lamp and Cam Robinson both sitting there at the top of Round 2.
