Traveling south from Fort Arthur you will see a terrific sigth. Gigantic and overgrown with weeds a series of strange grey-blue cliffs rising like magic from the vast plain. This is no trick of nature. It is the puny remants of one the greatest architectural achievements in history. No one knows why the great desert barrier was first erected. But for centuries it has been recycled by the natives as building materials in their primitive foul-smelling dwellings. Efforts by officers of the crown to preserve this mysterious historical legacy have so far proven fruitless. However with the recent invention of powered fligth in the Frankian kingdoms effective surveillence of the open wastes will at last be possible.
