Who are buying all of these lovely games? Are they profitable? Who's making all these lovely games?

If they've got trading cards, then game sales would only be part of their potential income. See, devs receive 10% of whatever marketplace actions relating to items received from their game- basically, they get 10% of all transactions involving their trading cards and the like. Sure, you sell a game for only $0.50 (at an permanent 75% discount to attract people looking for 'a good deal'), but if you give players 3-6 trading cards worth $0.10 to $0.25 apiece, then you'll get a massive influx of people buying your cheapo game and selling cards, which in turn would generate deceptively massive amounts of revenue. I have to admit, that if any of these games came up on Steam at extremely low prices and cards, I'd readily buy and Idlemaster them.

I wouldn't mind paying that kind of money for a VN, but only if it had a competent translation. Most of the time (in my experience, anyway), non-Western VNs have very stiff translation barely above fan translations.

I said it before, I'll say it again- why bother playing a game if you want to see naughty bits? I can kind of understand it if you can customize the characters, but if you're playing with presets, why go through all that effort? The Internet's right there whether you're into 3D or 2D, after all. Am I just lazy?

Yeah, there's even a game (or as Palpek pointed out, 'game-shaped object') called Achievement Hunter.

Honestly, I don't mind porn games being sold on Steam, anime-themed or otherwise. If someone wants to put in the effort for their porn, then by all means, do so, and as long as there's as much hard work out into the game as there is put into playing it, then no prob. We are all grownups here after all.

But stuff like Achievement Hunter, Fidget Spinner Simulation and the like only serve to clog up the Steam marketplace and shove otherwise deserving games off the front page. Is there some way I can report these things to Valve?

You know, I kind of like Crystal City's gimmick, especially if used for a romantic comedy/dramedy. Imagine it- a dude is getting it on with his girlfriend, then suddenly wakes up as his parallel self with his girlfriend's sister, or someone closely connected with said girlfriend (hell, maybe he's gay in this universe, who knows?). Cue him actually falling for the other person in his home dimension along with shenanigans- but is he really falling for that person, or for the ideal he saw in the other world? And then we can have the girlfriend in that dimension really fall for the dude, and the the guilt starts, and oh God I'm writing a fanfic of a tittygame aren't I? :smithicide:

I don't know, it seems less like quality control and more like Steam's trying to cover their asses (sorry, couldn't think of a proper sex joke as it's late here).

I mean, I'm not opposed to sex (in videogames or otherwise), and honestly, if Steam wants to sell tittygames they should have the balls (again, can't think of a sex joke) to let people post the uncensor patches or sell the games unadulterated. What Steam should be doing is to make it easier for people to exclude certain material from their ques if they want (i.e. make it visible on the front page/store page), as well as curate incoming games to ensure quality control. If people want sex in their games, that's fine, but if people want rape in theor games, then you should call the police.

Also games that have sex in them should be about more than just the shagging, but that's a different subject.

Yeah, Jim started out as just some guy talking about his opinions on the Escapist, but when that proved unpopular (I think he displaced Movie Bob or something?), he decided to go hog-wild with his dictator persona, which seemed to work. Then 2017 came, and playing an egotistic dictator suddenly didn't seem funny anymore. The show had also been moving from those roots, with Jim doing skits in costume and the like, so the whole egotistic showman thing seemed the logical way to go.
