Depends how they write it. kassel was bombed on a semi regular basis from 42-45, but by the raf. the trailer says its 1942. the raf flew 2 raids against kassel in 42. the only raid the 8th af flew against kassel was in 44, and it was comprised of 262 b24s. of course, it also says its inspired by true events. i suppose setting it in 42 gives them more dramatic license, since the luftwaffe hadnt been as badly kicked in the dick and there were no long range fighter escorts. for shits and giggles, i made a mockup of what 400 fighters would look like in the distance  its kind of hard to compare, due to graininess and also my brain just going gently caress this, too much too count, but it looks like way more than 400 specks in the trailer  its also pretty weird that they would all form up and come at the bomb group in one blob, instead of coming in from whatever direction their airfield was. kassel is literally in the middle of germany, so they wouldve flown past plenty of aerodromes, so the interceptors would probably be coming from every direction, not just ahead of them i also counted 71 bombers in this shot, which seems to be taken from the middle of the bomber box, when the intro text said there were 65 b17s. so theyre playing fast and loose with numbers and reality here
