Interesting that he was in his 50's and referencing a hip arthouse/porno movie for the kids. He might be even more Don Draper than the last time that cover got me wanting a Mad Men set in 60's-70's comic studios.

There was a Punisher one in the '90s right? I can't imagine that was any good but who knows. Anyone know the story on that?

EC probably does, but there's a good CBR article on it. Who know's if it survived their site relaunch. Checking...

edit: For social issues, I'm guessing that Lois run was kind of a precursor to Dennis O'Neil's GL/GA https://www.amazon.com/Green-Lantern-Arrow-Various/dp/1401235174

Is Locke and Key the only book that can really go on a list of "If you liked Stranger Things, try this next"? Because I know it probably isn't, yet it's the only one that comes to mind immediately.

For the group of kids getting into trouble/solving mysteries angle, you could go Gotham Academy, Plutona, Paper Girls and 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank (that one without the supernatural part.)
Wytches has freaky stuff in the woods and a small family trying to save each other from horrors.

He could tat the harness and muscles around it to make it clear. Assuming it's his bicep, giving it pecs and abs is would be pretty funny.

Super 8 is probably a lot like Stranger Things, right? I haven't watched either of them. I feel like culture is oversaturated with 80s nostalgia so it's a real big turn off for me.

It's similar. The monster story is pretty uninteresting, but I remember liking the group of kids.
It felt pretty fresh getting an Amblin movie at the time.

Okay, we reeeeally need the licenced comics thread back.

quote:

Before they skyrocketed straight into the cultural zeitgeist, Funko’s Pop! vinyl figures started out for sale in comic shops. This May, they’re going back to the beginning by teaming with comic publisher IDW for a month of special one-shot comics featuring Funko versions of IDW’s iconic pop culture properties like Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Funko Universe Month at IDW will primarily consist of five one-shot comics: Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The X-Files, Strawberry Shortcake, and Judge Dredd. But there will also be Funko variant covers available for that month’s issues of regular IDW titles like Back to the Future, Orphan Black: Deviations, Dirk Gently: The Salmon of Doubt, The Powerpuff Girls, Star Trek, and more.

I have like 72 hours to finish FF XV. Will I do it or will I just fish and do hunts and other non-story stuff? Yeah, probably that latter one.

Unless you wanna make the end pathetically easy, more or less mainline the story. I got there after 60 hours of side-quests and hunts and had no fun just swiping the final bosses around.

And the messing around is more fun post-game when you have a flying car
