I don't read the actual threads because Reddit. But I feel like their word stats fit that one pretty well.

Yikes.

Sort of a similar indictment for Boston's forwards: Bergeron, Marchand, and Pastrnak have combined for 63 goals this year. That single line is 40% of Boston's total goals so far.

It's okay, Pastrnak is on the Krejci line now. Problem solved.

I actually did like him with Krejci and Cehlarik the other night, but then they sent Cehlarik down so I dunno.

Wasn't the Horton/Clarkson move basically entirely a budget thing for the Jackets?

Their situation was that an expensive bad player is still better than paying a guy who can't play. They could probably afford Horton but it didn't make sense with a much tighter budget than Toronto has.

But then Clarkson got hurt too, but I guess he's insured so it's not as bad for them.

Can a team petition the league to leave someone off the Cup?

Aphrodite

Horton was on LTIR too, the key for them is the insurance so they're not on the hook for as much.

The NHL doesn't consider a slash like that intent to injure.

also that penguins game left me with mixed feelings. schultz and maatta are dead, geno's probably going to get suspended, and fleury was bad...but sid got 1,000 (and 1,001 and 1,002), the penguins won, and it was exciting, so yay?

Oh, so it's not just the gif.

drat that's like the fastest Lucic's hands have ever moved. If the net was a set of balls he'd have 30 goals.

Intent to injure is required to get more and the NHL cannot admit that a slash is an attempt to injure someone.

Even if you exclude the 1880s like Old Hoss Radbourn winning 59 games, no one is still touching the modern record of 31. Or Nolan Ryan's 383 strikeouts in one season.

Anyway as good as Gretzky's pure numbers are they aren't really that impressive when you watch film of how the game was played then. If a "greatest of all time" level talent had his career arc now, he'd have like 75% of Gretzky's point total.

Everyone else on that ice got to play against the same people and I don't see any of them with 2800 points.
