It's a strange artifact of how 1. the national split between the parties doesn't really represent state and city issues very well and 2. election turnout is terrible in general, doubly so for state elections, and triply so for primaries.

The union for the NYSP told the state to go gently caress itself and advised it's members to avoid enforcing the law, which they largely have since it is correctly seen as meddling from a bunch of culture war imperialists. As someone who enjoys shooting all kinds of guns and has no problem with gun ownership, lol

What I meant was that those groups' MO is to usually announce they're coming in advance for the attention and to generate reactions. Either they didn't do that or the people who monitor for these marches didn't catch it because their attention was elsewhere. Do you think was a spontaneous march or did these guys look well-organized? Stay safe and take care of yourself.
