jimmy van bramer wants me to re-elect him. I know relatively little about him, other than seeing him at a restaurant and he takes credit for shutting down that nazi super in sunnyside. how should I feel about not really having a choice?

double posted; guess I’ll also wonder aloud: why the new sanning of barcode card and iPad checkin? it took forever and just seemed like it would deter someone from voting, being asked for a card. this isn’t politics per se, but anyone file for unemployment using the NYS website? I think I did everything I’m supposed to, but there are more instructions that don’t match up with the options I have on the website

yeah, i had no problem with safari. I just had to wait until this morning to actually claim the benefit. seems to have worked? now money appears in my bank account??? guess I’ll wait and see

if it makes you feel any better, I didn’t get a payment for two weeks after claiming benefits, and when I did, it didn’t include the first week’s benefits. however, the next week I got my normal dispersement, plus the back pay, but weirdly had tax deducted again, taxing that first week’s funds twice. the next day, the difference was deposited. someone, somewhere, is on top of the accounting, even if it takes a little while. I work with (or, I suppose, used to... ha) other people that experienced similar quirks.

reduced train service means I basically never use the MTA again. I loving hate the subway, but I'd hate even more not being able to use it because trains are planned at 10 minute intervals (which we all know would turn into 10 mins, 25 mins,  )
