would you? If your choice is between some Hillary/Booker/Schumer/Pelosi type Dem or Trump would you be eager to pull the lever either way?

Christ, poo poo on Trump all you want but at least he tries to pretend there's a region in this country between Manhattan/DC and LA/Silicon Valley. There's video of a woman from West Virginia in tears telling Bernie Sanders about how there's no hope for her, her community, how people are dying of cancer from the lack of regulation within their water, how she can't get healthcare, how the coal companies are gonna bail...all of that stuff...

And the reaction from the idiots from the stereotypical white, upper class liberal blogger is to mock her, her community and say that she needs to be ignored because of their lovely version of "liberalism".

That upsets me. Much like how we can't get clean water to flint, how people are being killed by the police, etc. To treat someone with contempt in the manner that these pieces of poo poo do? It angers me. They may as well seriously be Republicans at this point.
the democratic party has no credible platform to address these issues lol

trump and republicans were pushing some legislation afaik to dissuade this practice by putting a minimum salary cap of ~6 figures on h1-bs

of course it's been transformed into undercutting labor domestically instead

[But Munoz, whose version of the episode appears to come from the playbook of how to dig oneself into an ever deeper hole, also undermined the argument that the flight was overbooked. He related that “after the flight was fully boarded,” gate agents “were approached by crewmembers that were told they needed to board the flight.” The implication is that the crewmembers heading to Louisville were late in arriving, that every passenger held a paid ticket and had been properly boarded, and only that only belatedly did United decide to pull passengers off the plane to make room.

without knowing anything about feminism or prominent activists of that cause and just being a dude, it seems superficially to me that there is a strain of feminist that believes putting women in positions of power is the most important thing. putting women in positions of power is more important than the policies of these women in power. maybe the rationalization for lovely policies pushed by women is that a man would have done it anyways and a woman doing it is somehow an equalizing force? idk

of course, there is probably a sane strain of feminism that believes that the policies of those in power matters more than just their gender

just a reminder that so far there is literally zero evidence of collusion by trump with the russian government, people in the security community have come outright on media and said there is currently zero evidence, and there aren't even allegations on what concrete actions and wrongdoing trump did

this does not preclude there being wrongdoing, but so far there is no evidence to justify the russian hysteria overtaking the democratic party

if you don't like watching a jimmy dore video, here's the medium article some person wrote about how ridiculous these journalists are:
https://medium.com/@caityjohnstone/establishment-loyalists-spent-yesterday-circulating-blatant-lies-about-glenn-greenwald-64a16a0ef6ed

quote:

It is from this insane, gibbering McCarthyist cacophony that these drooling troglodytes lurched to screenshot a single tweet out of the context of its thread and pass it around with the intention of deceiving their followers into thinking it meant the exact opposite of what Greenwald was saying. Many high-profile accounts with tens of thousands of followers shared this screenshot and have left it up, despite being corrected by their own followers. Political commentator Marcus H. Johnson for example, who smeared both Jill Stein and Nina Turner in a single tweet yesterday, retweeted multiple posts featuring this bald-faced lie, and made a few of his own to boot.
...
In reality, of course, Greenwald was in no way, shape or form seen “being against leaks” or calling them “unethical”, which anyone who knows anything about him should realize instantly anyway. This is made abundantly clear even for those who aren’t familiar with Greenwald’s consistent non-partisan perspective on government transparency in the context of what he was saying:
