i dont understand why people buy things from companies that make a million other things, for example a samsung washer or dryer. why would you not buy a Maytag? the only fuckin thing they make are washers and dryers and if they gently caress that up they're done.

reminds me of people who bought Polaroid TVs in the mid 00s

They wouldn't have been my first choice, but I didn't buy them. There's no doubt I'll have to replace them sooner than later.

i didn't mean to come off like a know it all, I just figured these huge expensive appliances are best left to certain companies

other examples : Frigidaire for air conditioners, Kitchenaid for refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers, may tag for washer and dryer ; poo poo like that

because even if the thing does break, i always figured maytag and Kenmore are going to have decent support but Samsung is going to demand I pay for return shipping on a dryer

kenmore is largely whatever manufacturer sears decides to contract out and are nearly identical to models from other manufactures, just a rebadge job. sears is a clusterfuck and you should stay away unless you like getting hosed over on warranties and service

i confused kenmore with kitchenaid then; i definitely did not buy my appliances from sears

Nah, I totally agree. I don't entirely trust a consumer electronics company to make quality home appliances. they're completely different specialisations.

the funniest one i think i ever saw recently was an RCA brand microwave

They're generally considered good but there's no guarantee that what was reviewed is actually what you get since they change specs on a given model without warning.

also half of their TVs (of the same exact model) are TN, the other half IPS, and you have to do wacky poo poo to get the right one (like check the lot number on the box)
