I don't understand how people fail to comprehend this. There's people in my building I've told five plus times that my dog is going to loving bite their hand if they stick it infront of his face and it never stops them from thinking its perfectly fine to stick their hand right in front of the dog's mouth. Is there something I'm not communicating that leads them to think my dog won't loving go for the hand when they put their hand right in his face?

people who approach dogs without properly gauging the situation are retarded. dogs who run up to and jump on strangers are equally dumb. the owners of said dogs are the worst of all. besides me

Need to recalibrate your dog. If you can spend 1500 quid on a ride you can spend ten bucks to get a dog recalibration. You just take your dog to the vet and tell him what's wrong and the situation works itself out from there.

You just take your dog to the vet and tell him what's wrong and the situation works itself out from there. The dog is find as long as complete strangers aren't sticking their hands in his face. I view this as less of a dog issue and more of a "people don't loving listen" issue. Its worth noting that the dog will sit on command when in in the elevator with other people or with other people passing him in the hall, he only starts getting aggressive as soon as a hand is stuck right in front of him.

You are probably subconsciously communicating to your dog that you are nervous about that stranger doing something, and you're priming your dog to snap at them.

don't try and get friendly with a stranger's dachshund, they'll loudly bark at best and bite you at worst

ra tehuti posted:What in your loving head thought you were contributing to the forums by posting this thread? nice meltdown Also OP, you're responsible for your free dog so maybe sign up for some training to desensitize the dog or change the association of having a strangers hand in its face into something positive instead...by I dunno, having someone(s) he doesn't know offer him an amazing treat he never gets otherwise until he looks forward to it? Dogs are pretty simple man. Option B is muzzle it. You can do this if you're just sick of people stopping you to pet your dog--no one's approaching a muzzled dog to give pets and if they do you won't get sued and the dog won't be euthanized

Condition the dog to recoil from other hands by punching it in the nose immediately after each time it attempts to bite your out-stretched hand. Pavlov has proven this works if you repeat it enough times. e: Please don't actually punch your free weaponized animal.

I actually want to muzzle him but I can't find a loving size to fit. I think if you let him offlease with a muzzle on for a month or two he'd be fine after that. But the ones I look at are either too restrictive or he can get them off himself.

push it around in a pram (if the dog's small enough). then instead of hands, it can bite old ladies faces when they lean in to peep the "baby"
