This is fresh in my mind because I'm playing it right now, but the specific reason she gives up her powers is because right after she lets the Big Daddy kill the Booker from the first DLC (who is actually a Comstock, and in his universe that Elizabeth lost a head instead of a pinky so he had the wonder twins wipe his memory and park him in Rapture) she panics and for some reason doesn't use her powers to keep herself from getting killed by the Big Daddy. This is normally fine because she can just gently caress off to the rest of time and space, but she feels bad because cooking the girl alive was actually her plan and she kinda had to coerce Bookerstock into it, so she teleports back to the place where she died which is apparently a big no-no for quantum abominations and she loses all of her powers.

Like, you can put me down as someone who actually really liked the main story and especially the Booker/Comstock stuff about the baptism, guilt, redemption, etc. And even I think the DLC has a poo poo story.

Meer definitely improved as the series went on, and he generally killed it for any of the funny moments. He definitely outclassed her in Citadel IMO.
