The one near me does this for the lunch rush, especially with the drive-thru line that can sometimes get long enough to spill out of the parking lot and block a lane of the road (because gently caress you, other cars, I need a lovely burger!). The idea is to only stop the line for a second at each window to pay or grab food, and it seems to work...often the ipad person is walking with cars as they continually move.

Solice Kirsk posted:The problem with the Patriots is that every call goes their way, their quarterback is some sort of handsome football demigod, their coach can turn any rag tag group of players into champions, and their fans all talk like idiots. Funny how confirmation bias works. If I didn't have a life I'd edit together a compilation of all of the non-calls and bogus flags that went the other way; no one remembers guys climbing Gronk like a tree (to be fair, the only way to stop him) and the refs twiddling their thumbs. The refs have just been awful in general this year and have hosed every single team over multiple times.....but also helped every team by loving their opponent. Pats fans only remember the calls that hosed the team over, non-Pats-fans only remember the ones that hurt the other team, plus some legit calls on both sides that they refuse to see reason about simply because they don't like the result, and everyone hates everyone else. It's easier to say there's a conspiracy in the whole NFL to prop up the Patriots than to be rational. Phanatic posted:Also their fans. At home working remote I can just roll out of bed at 11, so this is some serious bullshit. It's not even like there's an event I need to be here for, like a big product release or something. They just want all remote employees to pop in every few months because reasons. My old excuse of "they don't pay me enough to care" doesn't apply anymore, though; this is actually a pretty sweet gig, so I put up with it. I just don't get why they WANT to pay several grand to have me be less productive for a week, since I'm uncomfortable (have to wear actual pants, crappy office chair, etc.) and forced to use this lovely mac because they won't let me connect my other laptop to the wifi (not that I have my multi-monitor setup or any other resources I have at home anyway). Overall I'd estimate I get maybe 1 day's productivity out of the week. That said, Wicked opened in the theater across the street from my hotel last night, and it's super easy to find a last minute ticket for just one person, so that was a nice distraction. I loving loathe country music, so otherwise this city is pretty awful for me.

I love how this "article" (someone's rant) even describes exactly what happened, which is incredibly clear was due to the idiotic "prank" and not because the user was trans in any way.....and then acknowledges the obvious problem here with, "Why does this user being trans matter?" Because he made a mistake ages ago, which he apologized for and rectified as far as he was able to, if he does ANYTHING and the other party happens to be trans he's a monster? You read anything else he writes, and it's incredibly clear he's on the right side of poo poo. But that requires effort and thought.

Just lol at the idea that most people get past algebra, let alone touch multivariable calculus. I taught HS math in Florida, specifically Algebra 2; I assumed I would be teaching freshmen, based on when I remember taking classes in my day, but 99% of my students were seniors, most of whom failed the course multiple times (and the administration pulled strings to graduate them anyway so the school didn't look bad). A more appropriate graph for the top end of that curve:
