Lived with a guy who made a homemade still out of a big copper pot, but he used lead solder for the joints instead of silver (saving a few dollars on silver after spending like $100 on the copper pot and tubing) so I didn't drink any of the shine. A lot of engineering professors just don't know how to write an exam. I had a hydrology final with a question that required a series of like 30 iterative calculations to solve (we solved it with excel in class so nobody expected to see it on the exam, there were audible sighs and a few 'fuuuuuck's when the test started). I tried the first iteration and it took me over a minute, so I pulled out all my TI-83+ programming skills and wrote a program during the exam to automate the most time consuming parts and save the variables so I could do the next iteration in a few seconds. Pretty sure I'm the only one who finished. Some professors will straight up say that they aim for a 50% average so they can make a nice curve out of it, but I've had averages in the 30s Dance McPants has a new favorite as of 01:23 on Apr 17, 2023 |

You still get one general engineering reference ebook to use during the exam, but when I took the paper test I had that same book and dozens of others to use and the process of studying and indexing and learning how to find solutions quickly was more valuable than just memorizing where in the reference book the equation is that you need.

how the gently caress else am i supposed to deal with relatives saying poo poo like "people just don't want to work since BRANDON gave them that stimulus money!" (had to check my calendar to see what year i was in after that one). Don't think I murdered anyone but I was considering it after I got poo poo for "having mashed potatoes everywhere in the kitchen" well yeah I'm hosting and cooking the turkey, potatoes, mac and cheese and gravy. Kitchen's gonna be a mess (and it's my drat kitchen so what do you care), if ya don't like it there's the door.

Same for Requiem, also same for Brazil for me.
