Badger of Basra posted:Seems like if any district is designed for Clinton's national strategy to work it would be this one, but I'm not sure how it'll turn out since he's just running against Trump enablers rather than Trump himself

Badger of Basra posted:what % of the people in this district are actually opposed to those policies though, is what I'm curious about GlyphGryph posted:If he were smart he would build a powerful message and a narrative that casts himself as the hero capable of bringing about positive change, and simply use Trump as a point of contrast and a rhetorical wedge.

schumer at least shows some indication of knowing which way the wind is blowing. pelosi still defiantly insists that nothing is wrong

if the DNC were smart, they'd realize that they made gains in Georgia, Texas, and Arizona in 2016 and figure out ways to mine dissatisfaction with the GOP there

the NY Working Families Party went from having a higher-up in it saying we need "explicitly socialist candidates" (his words) to run for office to sending out an email today not about the Georgia special election, but the aftermath of the "who gives a poo poo" tax march that happened across the country saturday. in fact, they've sent out only one email regarding this election, and none about KS-04. i shouldn't have to check a thread on a small part of a pay-to-access internet forum to find out about national races sometimes i think everyone wants to fail

ossoff doesn't strike me as a smoothbrain neolib, or at least not as extreme of one as some of the complete fuckers that they've thrown to the fire. he's no james thompson though

i say vote for ossoff and then if he wins, sic someone better than him in the 2018 primaries if he refuses to budge on healthcare and other important issues can't say i'm surprised at his reaction to medicare for all, though, seeing as his platform talked about that and education in terms of "affordability." in contrast, one of the Democrats running for US Senate in Texas (O'Rourke, i believe?) says he does support it but doesn't think it's going to ever pass. we're more likely to make headway with an O'Rourke than an Ossoff

o'rourke believes in term limits for congress, which... well, if you think medicare for all is out of reach... no matter, again, he seems like less of a hack than ossoff theflyingexecutive posted:how about get dems in office and have them whipped into submission by leadership and the realities of politics? dude's never been elected, he can talk big game about specific legislation while he has the national spotlight, but send him to a few town halls to get screamed at and then to party meeting where he can be screamed at more and he'll whistle a different tune
