And I would also like to make a short case for Blood. Blood is a bit of an anomaly, possessing the ability to communicate telepathically, and human intelligence. He is interesting from more of a meta standpoint as he one of the few, if only film dogs I have seen that is more than simply a tool to elicit emotion to the viewer. He rises above this status to that of a full character.
