Okay, holy poo poo, October has been a weird month. Lots of poo poo's been going on, schedules have been super weird, and we put out our 1000th Mega Let's Play video, which was a huge personal time black hole. We're finally back on track, we've got a whole bunch of episodes in our backlog now, and we can keep things going through to the end from here. So let's get this thread back on its feet. Half now, half later after tonight's new episode goes up:

Part 127: "Where the Road Goes, Where the Day Flows"

I can sympathize with wanting to actually be back in memory times and get to know all those people as they were. It'd be an interesting game, with the plot missions being like to track down Zelda when she's gone off somewhere and room for exploration otherwise, but it'd be even less a Zelda game than this one.

So hey, this is the rest of that catch-up, I was talking about, with a bonus episode! Part 137 was... actually intended for tomorrow, so we could line the week back up, and I spaced and put it up on Saturday night. Er, whoops. Part 138 is coming Wednesday afternoon, and we'll be finishing out the rest of the game from there! So let's check a few last things off our bucket list...

Part 132: "Wüdenfüd"

Yeah, that Memory has WAY more of a spark to it than most shots of Zeldas across the franchise. Except Spirit Tracks Zelda, she's rad.

I would almost love to see The Champions' Ballad feel a bit more like a traditional Zelda game, with a vaguely-followable course of actions to take, or even a bit open-ended like A Link Between Worlds.

So I've heard! 800 Power Moons, I think? We're gonna do similar to what we did here, I think -- generally keep the ship steered forward, but diverting as neat things present themselves, potentially going back for fun stuff after the fact. I'm not promising we're going to get all 800 Power Moons in the lead-up to the end of the game, but I'm also not not promising we'll never try to get them all.

It's been pretty great so far! There's so much neat stuff going on in here, it's kind of amazing how huge it all feels! They squeezed a lot into this place, it's really well done.

And with this, the final episode, we bring our adventure to a close:

Finale: "The Scourge of Hyrule Castle"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQxyBHAn4SI

It's been a hell of a ride, eight long months trekking across Hyrule. It's had its ups and its downs, we've learned an awful lot about what the game has to offer. There's a lot we've missed, and we won't be continuing with the game directly from here, but we are planning on taking on The Champions' Ballad and exploring a bit more later on in the winter, so we're not 100% done yet, but for now, the journey is at its end.

Thanks for riding with us, guys! This was a blast, and definitely wouldn't have been the same without everybody in this thread.

I do like what Zelda says before your victory lap around the boar: you've always had your courage with you. Kind of echoes what Impa says when you show up to meet her, and the King when you leave the plateau: Link is a guy who has the courage to do a thing.

Okay, interesting... so after you clear the three trials in each area, you end up encountering a challenge version of the Blight Ganon fights... which ends with you getting faster recharge times for your Champion abilities. Kind of a weakish reward, but I guess I can't complain too much, it's still a reward.

So we're headed to our second Blight rematch, and I have to say I'm glad that the minimized-inventory battles make these much more of a puzzle than the first time around. Because your weapons break, you can't just rely on doing damage, you have to keep your runes in mind and get clever with how you utilize the items that you're given.

Basically, there's a reason Waterblight Ganon has an episode entirely to himself here.

Huh. So apparently there are a few shrines you can find in this game that are just straight up blocked until you complete a quest. I don't think that's happened to us before? But I guess we can take a swing at it, and hopefully we can track down this last shrine for the Urbosa trials...

And with that, I do believe our Let's Play of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has come to a close. There are a handful of quests left over (like the second and third Sword Monk Trials, around half the Shrines, most of the Korok Seeds, building a house...), but aside from potential special one-off videos down the line, this is the end of the line for our regular updates to the series.
