and this is why the Russia stuff would have completely blown over by now if not for the fact that Trump advisors keep turning up with undisclosed or suspicious ties with Russia

if it were just Dem hot air, even the media would have dropped it after a couple of months. but the Trump campaign keeps throwing blood in the water with a) the revelation that they've been going out of their way to hide or deny contacts with the Russians that actually happened, and b) the Trump campaign admitting enough fault to have people stepping down or recusing themselves over it

Yeah, definitely not about ratings at all.

A confluence of forces led to the successful launch to orbit of STS-119, without any of which would have resulted in mission failure.

Could you stop making GBS threads up the thread with self quotes and laffo spams? They add nothing to the discussion and suggest you have no intention to meaningfully engage in discussion.

Crowdstrike, the private firm hired by the DNC to investigate their servers, apparently revised their report cited as evidence of Russian origin of the malware purportedly used in the DNC hack.

Some people are really convinced Trump and Putin made a blood pact and that the DNC emails increased Trump's turnout. Things get weird when someone tells one of these people, "wait a minute, it doesn't seem like anything but circumstantial evidence has been found at this point. Maybe the media should tone it down a little while the investigation is going on. Besides, I don't need Russia involved to convince me Trump and the Republicans have policy that is bad."

The end result is - everyone loses, no one's sure what's happening anymore, there's no real clear winner.

And that's the issue, because democracy's greatest strength, is that it gives a non-violent decisive political victory to one side or another. Without that decisiveness, faith in the system is damaged, and its ability to ameliorate political conflict is reduced.

Trump won by 77 electoral votes. Fairly decisive in that sense. No major stinks about vote count issues, like some previous elections.

Ah, Russia went back in time and hacked the constitutional convention. Somehow the change didn't register in the minds of the Clinton campaign. I'm super mad and frustrated now.

Yeah, superdelegates have no influence when the media reports candidate X winning with 350 delegates before a single ballot is cast/caucus caucussed.
