I would argue that Triangle Strategy, with its characters having a more defined scope/wholly unique abilities rather than a job system, is closer to a Shining Force successor than it is to FFT or Fire Emblem.

It only resembles FFT in the political intrigue, which is still much more low magic than FFT/Fire Emblem/LUCT.
