Just to keep the ball rolling on this one... Have you tried installing Acer's driver for your monitor? (All they've got is a Windows 8 driver, but I'm just trying to think through this one). Also, is there any way you can try a different computer or graphics card? Running the DisplayPort to HDMI cable wouldn't be a bad idea either.
