I think bracketing is useful because abandoned interior spaces are going to have lovely lighting and it's nice to have a bigger dynamic range to work with. Turning it into mega processed poo poo though is bad and dumb.

Humans are traditionally extremely stupid with uninhabited property. Either they're looting tombs or they're tagging something with their name or destroying it just for fun. I mean they're stupid in general but it seems like when no one's watching all inhibitions disappear.
