Yeah I don't get the extreme, raging hatred for World's End. At absolute worst, all I can say is that I didn't laugh quite as much as I did during Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. But Edgar Wright himself has said he never really wanted to do comedy movies, his movies just wound up being funny because he's a funny guy and that's how he writes and directs. And most of the comedy of his movies comes from timing and editing. There are actual clever moments and jokes too, but the smash cuts and framing and comedic timing do a lot to add to his unique style and the humor of his movies.
