Why in god's name would you put up with all of this and not even get the remote opportunity to destroy people and things in all sorts of fun and unique ways? Like, at that point, even the military sounds like a more enjoyable lifestyle. At least the DFAC lets you get jacked as gently caress drinking like four glasses of milk per meal.

Do you think a program like that, but one that was basically just a WPA job that actually paid a decent wage, would be more effective? In other words, does the regimented lifestyle somehow make the work you do that much better vs treating it like a generic construction job? If the state just paid folks 15/hr to drive out and clear land/build trails as a 9-5 job would it accomplish as much as you can do with that program?
