I actually think the last season featuring Shelley Long is the worst season of Cheers. Diane just becomes completely unlikable and it kills the show for me for a bit. Some of the later seasons are rough, but not as irritating.

The pilot was TERRIBLE, but the second one was OK. New Niles is loving terrible, though.

OG Frasier was great up until they added Daphne's mom. Then, when they get rid of her, the show gets pretty good again.

I really think the show would have ended up being pretty loving good if the season had 20+ episodes like the old show. It was shaky through the first 5-6 episodes, but the last few were genuinely good.
