My nerdy friends who have never been hip hop fans put on a Hamilton song, sure that I would like it, and then rapped along in the most excruciating way. This seems pretty typical of hamilton fans.

I've heard it said that Hamilton is hip hop for white folks, which is dumb as hell. Hip hop is hip hop for white folks. Hamilton is musical theater (itself a (lovely) genre of music) made with a hip hop palette. And it is mostly bad, yeah.
