It was like all they looked at were the add-ons to Doom 2 and thought that was what the Doom experience was about. To be fair, that's how the majority of the community feels about it. In that vein, Doom 2 and all that followed were dumpster fires making GBS threads all over the beautifully handcrafted masterpiece that was DOOM.
