Also I sorely feel I should some how be making up missions for the Dictators forces, if I had the spare cash i'd buy the game and see what i can do but alas it is not to be this month. Still tomorrow I should have pics of some planes for Goons to look over including a nice Avro Vulcan if it is still at the museum.

Operation: Burn the earth.

Primary objectives:

Destroy the port facilities at Luanda.
Destroy Western Dictator radar sites.
Maintain air cover and escort defecting Free State pilots.

Map:

Flights:

Yellow Flight

2 x Gripens with BK-90 Mjolner Mk2. Objective is to bomb the port facilities with cluster munitions.

2 x Mirage F1.CR with T.200 400kg GPB. Objective is to bomb the port facilities.

1 x Gripens with A/A: Meteor, Standard Intercept. Objective is to provide air cover for bombing planes.

1 x Gripens with SDB. Objective if Gadfly AA is detected covering the port, destroy said Gadfly.

1 x EA-6B Prowler. Objective provide jamming against possible AA for the bombing planes.

Blue Flight

1 x Saudi Tornado with Storm Shadow, 1x. Objective is the destruction of the radar facility.

1 x Tornado with Taurus KEPD 350P. Objective is the destruction of the radar facility.

2 x Phantoms with A/A: AIM-120B AMRAAM, Heavy. Objective is to provide air cover for Tornado planes.

Black Flight

1 x Saudi Tornado with Storm Shadow, 1x. Objective is the destruction of the radar facility.

1 x Tornado with Taurus KEPD 350P. Objective is the destruction of the radar facility.

2 x Phantoms with A/A: AIM-120B AMRAAM, Heavy. Objective is to provide air cover for Tornado planes.

Purple Flight

4 x Gripens with A/A: Meteor, Standard Intercept. Objective wait for confirmation of defector flight launch and launch and provide air cover for defecting planes.

2 x Phantoms with A/A: AIM-120B AMRAAM, Heavy. Objective wait for confirmation of defector flight launch and launch and provide air cover for defecting planes.

Support flight

1 x Saab S 100B. Objective provide AWACS support.

1 x KC-135 Tanker. Objective provide refueling for airborne planes.

1 x MQ-9 Reaper. Objective deploy where it can provide the best recon for the strikes against the radar sites without being shot down.

Rules of engagement:
Engage any Dictator air units on sight once they enter missile range.
Engage any Free State air units on sight once they enter missile range. Do not engage the Free State Dictators.

Additional information:

There is my proposal for this mission. According to Searates.com the port at Luanda provides about 80% of Angola's port capacity if we can neutralize this port it should cause a massive negative effect on the Dictator's ability to get equipment and goods out and in to the country. As per usual for me this is where you will find the war crimes thus the cluster munitions. Should also cause chaos afterwards in the clean up and drat the civilian casualties.

In addition we destroy the dictators western radar sites with stand off cruise missiles from our aircraft. We know where the radar sites are and we should be able to destroy them no problem. All flights have air to air protection just in case the Dictator has any aerial surprises in reserve.

The main amount of our air to air planes will be in the east where they will wait for the Free State defectors and escort them to our airfields when they make their break.

The Frogfoot can't aerial refuel, so it can't go to the port and back. So it'll have to either stay home or bomb Bulgarians or Radars.

Good information. will edit the plan. Thank you.

Edit: Plan updated. SU-25 removed replaced with 2 x Mirages with bombs.

Not too worried about the stand off munitions last i checked we tried to use them against AA defenses themselves this time they will be used against a stationary ground building should hopefully be better.

As for the don't be evil idea? That's what all my plans are pure evil as much as I can do and still be at least some what feasible.I won't blame or be against any one not voting for my plans it is just for something different.

If you want to look for some positive side of it, we could spin it as showing how ineffective the Dictator is at defending his assets and that we are doing so to keep the port facilities out of the Free States hands.

A quick heads up for those planning to strike the armour, Yooper said they were heavily camouflaged, they are also likely a lot more spread out as they are on the defense instead of attacking a single point and are guarded by extensive Tunguska AA defenses in addition to any possible Gadfly AA defenses. You may need to consider the potential extra difficulty of having to spot them and attack them while they are spread out. Also if anyone plans to attack the Bulgarians at night the rate of detection will probably be lower?

Of course plenty of the above could be wrong as I am mostly going by assumptions.

So You Wanna Do A (War)Crime

Tythas in streamchat inspired me to look this up by talking about napalm but having a decidedly incomplete list of "things what set other things on fire". Here's a summary of some interesting options you can use to reenact your most treasured memories of the Vietnam war.

I'm skipping the F/A-18 variants because everybody wants those anyway, as well as the Fulcrums, Flankers, and Fullbacks for similar reasons of being generically good.

First up, some bad or at least non-exciting entries:
  • A-37B Dragonfly: There's like, 12 of these from various countries. They're all basically the same. They're slow as molasses, but technically better than the SK60s!
  • AV-8B Harrier II+: Eh. Harriers were great in True Lies. They're not that great here, slow and small loadout. But they're another option with a bunch of decent weapons.
  • OV-10D(+) Bronco: Were you interested in the Dragonfly, but thought it just wasn't terrible enough? Have I got a deal for you.
  • Super Mystere B.2: Thanks, Honduras, for operating these until loving 1989. They're from the 1950s! We'd be better off donating them to a museum.
  • Yak-38M Forger A: All the downsides of the Harrier, plus all the downsides of it being Soviet hardware. I don't know about you but I'm super pumped. The really interesting thing though is that these weapons (RBK-500-ZAB) aren't just napalm, they are cluster napalm, which is like the warcrimes-est thing I have ever seen. Well played, Russia.
Now, some stuff that's actually pretty interesting
  • A-6E Intruder: Still a pretty mediocre aircraft, but notable for having the utterly weird loadout of Shrikes and napalm. For whatever requires that combination. Also basically every other weapon, including sea mines. For extra warcrimes.
  • A million goddamned Su-24 variants: Fencers are pretty nice, especially since we don't need to be really concerned about mixing NATO/Russian munitions. They also come with an absolutely ludicrous number of loadouts, including our cluster napalm friends.
  • Su-25T Frogfoot: Hey we already own one of these.
  • MiG-29 Fulcrum C (Baloogan's site appears to die on this one): I know I said I'd skip Fulcrums, but this one is from Myanmar! That's worth something, right?
  • F-4E Phantom II (United States): There's a whole bunch of American Phantoms that can mount napalm bombs. And you know how much I love my Phantoms. But speaking of that, I saved the best for last:
  • F-4E Phantom II (Iran): That's right, Iran is back and ready to fulfill all the Phantom needs you never knew you had.

I think the irony percentage of my support for buying Iranian Phantoms is rapidly diminishing.

Stay safe out there, warcrimes ghosts!

You sir are a god send, I am giddy with excitement after seeing those cluster napalm munitions and sea mines as well? Well that is just icing on the cake, hopefully we can pick up some of those aircraft and I can add a little more mixture to my plans.

Who cares if Angola stays stable, who cares about what Von Hoff did. We are Mercenaries, we leave the morals to the politicians and just get the job done. We got paid and we completed the mission that is all that matters, the entire country could erupt in civil war and it wouldn't matter to us unless we could get hired.

Also I am against getting more high tech equipment both for an in character reason and out of character. Out of character the higher tech equipment we get the easier it is to go with longer range stand off munitions which while effective is going to look pretty boring.

In character the more high tech equipment we get the more of a threat to the more developed nations and groups we become, its all well and good buying say F-15 jets right up until China catches up with us and swats them out of the skies with J-20s or America intervenes with proper F-22s. My suggestion is buy medium to low tech but buy in number, we want to be a threat to third world nations across the globe and with the limited ability to intervene in higher staked conflicts but not strong enough to warrant attention from the groups liable to swat our planes out of the sky.

Also the UAE is pretty terrible at keeping their current navy running properly. My Dad works for a company that helps write the maintenance manuals for ships and makes sure all work is being done right and he once went out there to check on some new patrol boats they had ordered. On arriving he found out of the seven ordered they had one running and only barely and that was because they were using parts from the other six. Even then it could just about leave the harbour before having to turn back so I can see why they would need something else. A good warning though about paying and preparing for maintenance of your new equipment.

Yooper is there any chance that we could have Cobbie's men on the ground inform the Russians about the Americans using captured enemy equipment if we have any or can acquire some. Could we make it look like the BSNC intercepted the transmission and passed it on to the Russians. Maybe include a note asking for Russian support for independence? I mean sure we don't gain any money but if we can start a conflict between Russia and America that could lead to more exciting opportunities for employment.

Also hire the boats I guess? The question is if we do hire them how long are the hired for and will we get our moneys worth out of them?

Well first we need to decide what we need replacing in our now rather limited number of air frames. Are we looking for more air to air, more air to ground, a bit of both? The Gripens are probably the best capability wise for air to air but are they the same if we need ground attack planes? Not to mention we only get what 7 of them and we have 1 left so we would need to manage what air frames we send up at a time. Plus quite a lot of the Gripens weapons are modern right thus increasing costs as we use them.
