Terrible Opinions posted:Unfortunately all the creators are too bland and wholesome to really do anything interesting with the concept, outside of dating sim writer guy. They're all super passionate whose wants more or less align with their creations. We don't have any work-a-day writers, authors writing about characters whose morals are different than their own, or even just someone writing a satire. Everyone is working on their passion project and all of those passion projects are dreadfully straight forward. Kind of a shame they didn't keep serial killer girl's creator around, since as you say it would have been interesting to have a creator who basically doesn't relate at all to their creation.

So I wasn't originally going to watch this because the plot sounds dumb as gently caress, but then I found out it was the Black Lagoon guy and that's pretty much my favorite anime, so here we are. I wish he was doing another season of Black Lagoon instead. The real question is, are these writers/artists representational of real industry people? Because I have never seen the guy that does Bleach, but if you told me he's a tall dude who wears a black coat with a fur-lined hood all the time, that would make this anime so much better. I was really hoping the fat guy was going to end up having a gun and vampire fetish. Edit: I need a lot more scenes with Sharkface Murdertits and a lot less scenes with everyone else. They don't even have to be more cavalier about murdering the cast (although that wouldn't hurt). The problem is a lack of any kind of prioritization. Like, you listed out every character in Mob Psycho 100, you'd have a pretty decent sized list with Claw and the Body Improvement Club and the Telepathy Club and the second rate Espers Ritsu hung out with. But the show always knew what it was about. It's about Mob, and the main supporting character is Reigen. They're in focus from the start, and if things move over to someone else, their deal is clearly and succinctly covered. Here, the only character with any development is also the only one who, you know, died.

This feels like a show that sucks episodic but is enjoyable binged.

if the whole show was moments like the end of this week, or moments executed that well, this show would be freaking great But stuff like that is like maybe 1/10th of the show. The rest is underwhelming action, regurgitated exposition, and character stuff about characters that aren't that good

It had good moments but this show feels like it only needed maybe 16/17 episodes instead of the 23? something it's getting. I don't think a 13 episode series would have worked with the size of the cast though.

The show is padded out to hell with characters slowly belabouring points or repeating themselves. You could cut the episode count of the show in half and not lose anything. It is very much that bad, even the first half dozen episodes were split almost half and half between "characters sitting in a room with Meteora talking" and everything else combined. Episodes like this are just painful because they show that there is some talent behind this that could have made a good show instead.

Honestly this would've worked fine as a 12-ep if they gave someone the axe and right now I'm thinking that it's Yuya they should've cut out of the show entirely. He hasn't really added anything narratively, for the most part he's just been 'someone for Blitz to fight'. ...so when he comes across his main 'rival' in the latest episode it was almost funny how I didn't really care that much tbh
