https://twitter.com/JustinVerrier/status/856947068836823040 Those are the towns that are interested in hosting the Pels G-League team. I'm selfishly pulling for Baton Rouge since it is closest. Would also offer higher quality basketball than LSU.

SCARYJEINFELD posted:While I think you're ultimately probably right, I think the Thunder almost certainly would've been a title team if they had held onto Harden and Ibaka. If they had stayed together long enough eventually they wouldn't have had such bad injury luck and would've taken one. I think if you're a franchise following the Thunder model makes sense. Because presumably you're planning to not trade one of the three future MVP candidates (you can argue hindsight, but even at the time it was obvious Harden was very good) you drafted high up for some vastly inferior wings and a guy with a cool accent. Or even by using cap space more wisely then the Gullenist that can't play defense. Teams have tried to follow the Thunder model. None of them have even made it to the playoffs, yet.

chunkles posted:How do you feel about them sticking with Gentry/Demps? I don't like Dell's big money moves. He's really good at the margins, though. Not sure how much is him and how much was ownership dictating certain things. I like the young vet strategy but the execution (mainly the Tyreke acquisition) has been lacking. There is room for an upgrade there, but I'm not sure the team will be able to find it. For Gentry, I dunno. He likes the ball-movement-heavy, taking early "good" shots, and pushing in transition. Even when the personnel doesn't fit it. I mean, yeah, that is a great style of offense to run, but not with the players he's had the last two seasons. I've said it before, but the Pels just haven't really had any "push the fast-break" threats other than Davis. Gordon and Anderson are trailers, Tyreke will always take the shot, Jrue is prone to turn the ball over under heavy pressure. This season was just a complete dearth of shot-makers. If they were to have made a change, they should have made it immediately after the season ended.

Asking here as well as in Trad Games, but does anyone know of any basketball tabletop games? I think I'm gonna try my hand at making a D&D for basketball (think 2K MyPlayer but with multiple players and probably turn-based) and want some inspiration for on-court play rules.

Yeah, Bloodbowl is a thing I'm looking at, but I don't want this to be as random as that game. Kuroko is also definitely in my mind. I'm actually debating whether to enable and encourage those kind of shenanigans in a way similar to World Wide Wrestling or to make the on-court action more like a tactical game like the goon made Strike! rpg.
